ईरान यह जान चुका है कि अब इजरायल से बचने का एक ही तरीका उसके पास है और वह ये कि उसका सामना किया जाए. यही बात ईरान के सर्वोच्च नेता अयातुल्ला ख़ामेनेई के पोते हसन ख़ामेनेई ने भी मानी. उन्होंने कहा कि इजरायल तब तक पीछे नहीं हटेगा जब तक कि ताकत और शक्ति के साथ इसका सामना नहीं किया जाएगा.
उन्होंने चैनल 1 के साथ एक इंटरव्यू में फ़िलिस्तीनी राज्य की स्थापना के लिए जनमत संग्रह कराने के ईरान के सुझाव पर चर्चा की. हसन ने यह भी स्वीकार किया कि अगर जनमत संग्रह होता है, तो इससे फ़िलिस्तीनियों के बहुमत शासन की वजह से संभवतः इज़रायल का अंत हो जाएगा. खामेनेई ने दावा किया, “जिसे सबसे अधिक वोट मिलते हैं वह जीतता है, और यह अंततः इज़रायल को मिटा देगा, और वे इसे जानते हैं.”
Israel is unlikely to hit Iranian nuclear sites in response to Tehran’s ballistic missile attack, the New York Times (NYT) has reported amid growing anticipation over Tel Aviv’s reply to last week’s assault across the Jewish country.
Israel is instead likely to focus on military bases, or intelligence or leadership targets, but could later go for the nuclear program if Iran responds, according to the report. Former and current senior Israeli officials “acknowledged doubts” whether Israel could do serious damage to Iran’s nuclear program.
